Connecticut Program for Children with Diabetes
The Hungerford Diabetes Center hosts a satellite pediatric diabetes program of the Connecticut Program for Children with Diabetes established in 1978 at the University of Connecticut Health Center and now based at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC). Once a month, a multidisciplinary diabetes team deliver care to children with Type I diabetes and adolescents with Type II diabetes. This team includes one pediatic endocrinologist from CCMC and one diabetes nurse educator from HDC.
